GBCORP Adds Wind Power: 5kW Maglev Hybrid Systems Now Available
GBCORP's Sustainability portfolio has always answered one question — how buildings and businesses generate their own power. With the launch of the 5kW Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine + Solar Hybrid System, that answer no longer stops when the sun goes down.

Until now, the GBCORP e-shop's renewable line has been a solar story — transparent glass, BIPV façades, solar fencing, flexible panels. Strong products with one shared dependency: daylight. Today the line gains its night shift.
What is launching
The 5kW Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine + Solar Hybrid System pairs a maglev vertical-axis turbine with a 5kW solar array, a hybrid MPPT inverter and lithium storage — 10kW of combined capacity engineered as a single system, from one supplier, on one contract.
The turbine is the interesting half. Its permanent-magnet generator floats on magnetic suspension, so the rotor begins turning at just 1.5 m/s — a light breeze — and works in wind from any direction without yawing or hunting. It is near-silent by design, survives 40 m/s cyclone-strength winds behind an electromagnetic brake, and carries CE marking from an ISO 9001/14001 audited factory.
Why now
Demand pulled this launch, not strategy decks. Inquiries from New Zealand and Australia — two markets where rural properties, coastal wind and serious grid distances meet — asked the same question in different accents: can solar-plus-storage alone carry an off-grid property through a southern winter? The honest answer is that wind makes the mathematics dramatically kinder. Solar owns the day; wind frequently owns the evening and the storm season. Shared storage smooths what remains.
Engineered honestly
The product page reads differently from the listings this market is used to, because GBCORP publishes the conservative figures: the start-up speed from the model table rather than the brochure, a rated output stated at honest wind speeds, and a plain note that grid-connection in Australia and New Zealand requires an AS/NZS 4777.2-certified inverter, which GBCORP quotes through licensed installers. Off-grid, the system is complete as supplied.
Availability
The system is available for pre-order now through the GBCORP e-shop, configured to order: DC bus voltage from 12 to 96V, masts from 6 to 12 metres, battery capacity matched to the customer's evening load, and blade materials to suit the site. Every quotation is fixed-price, and every delivery ships export-packed to the customer's nearest port.
Wind power completes a Sustainability line that now generates around the clock — and it will not be the last addition. Browse the growing portfolio in the GBCORP e-shop.
