Accessibility Statement

GBCORP's WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility commitment, known limitations, and how to give feedback.

Effective 1 June 2026 · Centrally managed across the GBCORP network

GBCORP is committed to making gbcorp.org and every site in the GBCORP network accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. This Accessibility Statement explains the standards we target, the technology we use, and how to give us feedback.

1) Our Commitment

GBCORP believes the web should work for everyone. We design our sites, e-shop, and member areas to be perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for visitors using assistive technology including screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice-input software, alternative keyboards, and switch devices.

2) Conformance Target

Our conformance target is WCAG 2.2 Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, World Wide Web Consortium), aligned with EN 301 549 v3.2.1 and the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882, in force 28 June 2025). WCAG 2.2 / 2.1 Level AA is referenced by:

  • Section 508 of the United States Rehabilitation Act
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as applied to public-accommodation websites
  • The EU Web Accessibility Directive (2016/2102) and the European Accessibility Act
  • UK Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (for our public-sector engagements)

3) What We Are Doing

Across the GBCORP network we are working towards:

  • Using semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks so screen readers can announce page structure
  • Providing text alternatives for non-text content (images, icons, video thumbnails)
  • Maintaining colour contrast at WCAG AA ratios across light and dark themes
  • Ensuring all interactive elements are reachable by keyboard alone
  • Testing with VoiceOver (macOS / iOS), NVDA (Windows), and TalkBack (Android)
  • Avoiding content that flashes more than three times per second

This work is ongoing. Some sections of the Site have been reviewed and brought up to the WCAG 2.1 AA target; others are still in the process of being audited and remediated.

4) Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some areas of the Site may not yet be fully accessible:

  • Third-party embeds (payment processors, social-media widgets) may not meet WCAG AA in every detail
  • Legacy PDF documents may lack proper tagging; we are migrating these to accessible HTML
  • Complex data visualisations may not have full text equivalents — we are working on this

If you encounter an accessibility barrier we have not listed, please tell us — see "Feedback" below.

5) Feedback

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the GBCORP network. Please tell us if you encounter accessibility barriers:

We try to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days.

6) Compatibility

The GBCORP network is designed to be compatible with:

  • Latest two major versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
  • VoiceOver on macOS 13+ and iOS 16+
  • NVDA 2023+ and JAWS 2023+ on Windows
  • TalkBack on Android 12+

The Site may not be fully compatible with browsers older than three years or with some assistive-technology combinations not listed above.

7) Assessment Approach

GBCORP assesses accessibility through a combination of:

  • Automated testing using axe-core and Lighthouse on every release
  • Manual keyboard-only testing on every major template
  • Screen-reader testing on a sample of templates each quarter
  • External audit on a biennial cycle

8) Statement Status

This Accessibility Statement was first prepared and approved on 1 June 2026. Our first independent external accessibility audit is scheduled for Q2 2027; this Statement will be updated to reflect its findings.
